Fall and Spring 2021/22
I volunteer as the co-leader for the Applied Math department advising team. My co-captain and I help organize 2-3 advising events throughout the course of the fall, including panels, lunches, and socials, to help integrate new students to the department and build community. In addition, co-captains facilitate over 50 peer-advising matches each semester, and I advise several students directly.
Fall 2020 - Spring 2022
Ski team representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Advocated to administration to recognize athletic competition as an exemption for class, and plan social events for the organization. Responsible for communicating concerns from the team to the committee and keeping the team informed.
Spring 2021
Led the development of a machine learning model to automate the grading of student writing samples for an ed-tech start-up. Responsible for merging team members programs into one workflow and testing several machine learning algorithms. Improved modeled grading accuracy by 90% over the semester-long project.
Spring 2019
In the spring of 2019 I worked on a Harvard Undergraduate Consulting for Business and the Environment case team developing a food waste management protocol for a large non-profit. Personally, I was responsible for data analytics, working to save on disposal costs by developing an optimization model for subsidiaries to estimate the most cost-effective mixture of disposal methods. In addition to providing data-collection and communication advice, I designed a mock website which exemplified improved data collection methods, as well as providing additional tools subsidiaries could use to make more informed waste management decisions.
Fall 2018 and Spring 2019
Played trumpet for the Harvard Jazz Band and Pops Orchestra my freshman year of school.
